Pre-Doctoral Research Assistant May 2025 – Present

Used Gemini 3 Pro to digitize 49K biomedical pathway diagrams into a structured database of 1.3M gene interactions, processing images at scale with async concurrency. [demo]
Compared GPT-4o-mini, 4o, and 5.2 to validate pathway labels against PubMed Central figure captions, identifying error rates and recommending the most cost-effective model for a 34K-image production run.
Constructed a 148M-observation panel linking patent text to GWAS genetic discoveries across 7M gene-disease pairs; ran difference-in-differences and event study analyses to estimate effects of public genomic research on pharmaceutical patenting.
Extended the analysis to value GWAS spillovers using FDA Orange Book drug patents and KPSS market-based patent valuations, following Azoulay et al. (2019).

Traded options on the Bond Desk, managing risk across rate products and identifying relative value opportunities in option chains.
Built internal tools to automate systems workflows including accounting, CME processes, and expiration handling.
Analyzed historical correlations across 2-year, 5-year, and 10-year rate products using Python and pandas to inform trading strategies.

Designed and implemented a scalable Flask API alongside a robust database schema hosted on AWS to store data.
